Experiment description: Two Geiger-Mueller tubes measure damping of γ radiation by metals (Cu of four thickness, Al, Fe and Pb). The positioning is by step motor drive. The remote laboratory may be used for study of Poisson statistic distribution of γ radiation source.
Description of the use: This remote experiment may be used both for the demonstration and measurements of the damping of γ radiation in different metals, for Cu to determine stopping power. The experiment may be with advantage used at schools, where even small intensity sources of radiation are not allowed.
